About Senior Pastor Jae Kim

After graduating from George Mason University, Pastor Jae Kim went on to receive his M.Div from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Pastor Kim enjoys drinking strong coffee while reading old books, playing golf, and hanging out with his family and friends. His greatest joys are experiencing God’s presence and seeing lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our History

The church originated from an immigrant, Korean- Methodist Church based in Augusta, Georgia, established around the 1980s. From there, the church started an English Ministry around 1994, stemming from an influx of Military Korean-American interracial couples based in Fort Gordon. By God’s grace, our congregation grew more and more as different cultures and ages attended, joined, and served our church previously called, “Augusta Korean-American Methodist Church.”

In 2019, we officially changed our name to, “True Light Community Church,” to represent the diversity and growth of our beautiful church as we continue to worship and honor Jesus Christ, the “True Light.”
